Characteristics of the vine:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The grape has found wide spread in Abruzzo and along the Adriatic coast.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ampelographic characteristics<\/strong>: variety is fairly even, differential<\/span>\u00a0characters relate to the shape of the bunch, the presence of<\/span>\u00a0millerandage green, ripening period and the organoleptic<\/span>\u00a0characteristics of the product. Wide bud apex, cottony, tomentose on<\/span>\u00a0the underside. Medium leaf, pentagonal, five lobes, very dark green<\/span>\u00a0colour, plan flap on the underside. Petiole sinus at lira closed or<\/span>\u00a0tending to close. Medium cluster, more or less compact,<\/span>\u00a0cylindrical-conical, often winged. Medium berry, black-purplish, shut<\/span>\u00a0not too easy; thick skin, waxy; juicy flesh, slightly pink, simple<\/span>\u00a0taste.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cultural attitudes<\/strong>: vine vigor medium-good with semi-erect bearing of<\/span>\u00a0vegetation; average branch internode rather short and balanced<\/span>\u00a0vegetation. It prefers deep medium consistency, medium<\/span>\u00a0clayey-calcareous and well exposed in areas further north of culture;<\/span>\u00a0requires hot and dry climates tend to adjust ripening grapes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Training and pruning<\/strong>: types of farming requires not too much expanded<\/span>\u00a0and pruning medium-Court. Adapts to the full mechanization as long as<\/span>\u00a0certain environmental conditions are met, especially in the more<\/span>\u00a0northerly areas of the crop area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Time of bud burst<\/strong>: long.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ripening<\/strong>: mid-late.<\/span><\/p>\n

Production<\/strong>: medium-good and fairly constant both in form in severe<\/span>\u00a0pruning and medium to long. Susceptibility to disease and adversity: a<\/span>\u00a0little sensitive to mildew, all subject to millerandage green. Good<\/span>\u00a0resistance to frost.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oenological potential<\/strong>: it gives a wine of intense ruby red color,<\/span>\u00a0characteristic aroma, vinous, dry, fruity, tannic acid, with good<\/span>\u00a0body, velvety, properly alcoholic.
